Bird Craft for Kids

Birds fascinate us in so many ways! Children are always attracted to their beautiful colors and their ability to fly. This is a simple and easy-to-do bird craft you can try with your child this spring. Read our easy tutorial below and learn how to make this bird craft for kids.

Birds are the only animals with feathers. Their size range from the tiny bee hummingbird to the big common ostrich, which weighs more than a human. There is a wide range of them but only some of them are commonly known.

There is an interesting fact that birds evolved from dinosaurs called Theropods the chicken being the closest living relative to the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

This craft requires basic and inexpensive supplies such as colored construction paper, scissors, glue, and googly eye. You can try different colors of your choice on this bird craft.

Supplies Required:

  • Colored construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Googly eye

How to make Bird crafts for kids:

Begin by cutting paper circles of different sizes. We’ll need a large-sized circle and a small-sized circle. Cut out rectangular shapes of the same size. We’ll need three of them. Keep the materials ready before starting the craft.

Take the large-sized paper circle, and fold it in half. Now, glue the small paper circle to the folded paper circle. This makes the head of the bird.

Glue the googly eye and the beak onto the bird’s head. Find the halfway point along the length of the folded large-sized paper circle, and cut a rectangular shape through both sides.

Take two of the paper rectangles, and fold them in accordion style. Glue two of them together for the wings and save the other for the tail.

Insert the wing part into the rectangular hole made in the body of the bird.

Glue the tail part to the end of the body.

Your Bird craft is done!
